We are building the AI layer the $340B global timber industry has been waiting for. Today, the industry relies on a 200-year-old volume formula and manual tape measures to manage high-value log loads, resulting in 17–35% estimation errors. We are replacing this with patented multimodal computer vision and AI agents deployed directly at the truck scale—the most leveraged data moment in the supply chain.

Unlike competitors who rely on consumer smartphones for mobile, decentralized setups, ForestVision.ai deploys fixed, industrial-grade camera rigs and edge-computing boxes specifically designed for high-throughput mill entryways. We don’t just output predictions; we generate a state-certified audit trail that transforms raw pixels into deterministic, industry-standard measurements.

Focus Areas

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will contribute to the full-stack development of our edge computing, kiosk, and pipeline infrastructure, ensuring robust log reconstruction and reliable cloud scaling. Additionally, you will engineer internal operational and monitoring systems designed to support development, troubleshooting, and system performance. Finally, you will help build and evolve our customer-facing SaaS products, ranging from contract management and reporting tools to future applications for truckers and yard operators.

What You Will Do

• Build end-to-end web and mobile app experiences using React, Next.js, and AWS.
• Develop reliable product features across frontend, backend, data, and cloud infrastructure.
• Help scale distributed systems that support large image datasets and vision workflows.
• Build and improve tools for vision model training, evaluation, and operational monitoring.
• Design backend workflows that can process complex, high-volume vision pipeline jobs.
• Effectively use AI tools to solve problems, improve productivity, and accelerate development.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and observability as usage grows.
• Work closely with product and technical stakeholders to turn ambiguous needs into working software.
• Write clean, maintainable code and tests that support long-term product quality.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong full-stack engineering skills with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Strong AWS experience, especially with scalable cloud systems.
• Interest in computer vision, model training, data pipelines, or applied AI systems.
• Must embrace AI and effectively use AI to solve problems.
• Experience building production applications from frontend through backend.
• Comfortable debugging distributed systems, cloud workflows, and data processing issues.
• Able to work effectively in an existing codebase and take ownership of scoped projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling image processing, ML, geospatial, or data-heavy systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, and production support.

The Full Stack Software Engineer position offers a base salary range of $150,000 to $200,000, along with equity and comprehensive benefits. Please note that this range serves as a guideline; actual total compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, skill set, qualifications, and geographic location.
